The Webmaster analyzes and monitors Internet and intranet sites. The Webmaster supports the Information Systems Manager in gathering information and making decisions regarding WAN issues. The Webmaster makes recommendations to the Information Systems Manager regarding design issues and upgrades. This position makes recommendations for internet and intranet security issues and ensures a stable high speed connection to the existing network.

RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • Maintain and provide administrative services for all legal Internet domains, owned by the company;

  • Develop, maintain and provide support on the intranet site;

  • Develop, maintain and monitor web servers serving an Internet domain;

  • Maintain and administer internal and Internet POP mail servers;

  • Monitor software licenses to ensure compliance;

  • Ensure that all Internet standards are met and identify issues that could threaten the business domain;

  • Administer all legal Class C IP addresses and internal IP addresses of class A by DHCP server;

  • Provide support to the Information Systems Manager in the design and implementation of
    extended network links to future (potential) sites using frame relay and/or dedicate leased line circuits;

  • Responsible for maintaining all UNIX servers and host controllers within the network department;

  • Responsible for the DNS server and the DNS naming structure;

  • Develop ways to better serve Internet members and develop to achieve savings through the use of the intranet;

  • Perform network administrator tasks in his absence or as needed;

  • Provide users with a fast, accurate and secure method of accessing information they need to work effectively;

  • Be an active participant in network service team meetings and propose recommendations on LAN/WAN projects;

  • Participate in team meetings, provide comments and suggestions;

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent training/experience in the field of computer science;

  • Internet/intranet certified (such as NCIP from Novell) or two years of experience in web server management/development;

  • CNA certification is required, CNE and/or MCSE certification is preferred;

  • Extensive experience with JAVA, JavaScript, Pearl, and HTML programming;

  • Considerable experience with WAN and Internet infrastructure;

  • Professional experience in the financial sector is preferred;

  • Knowledge of banking rules and the ability to understand manuals and written instructions;

  • Able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing;

  • Superb writing skills, content development skills and revision;

  • Able to work effectively as part of a team as well as that independently;

  • Attention to detail in all areas of work;

  • Superior time management skills as well as good versatility, and the ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision;

  • Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines;

  • Excellent skills in identifying and solving problems;
